Youth Group Meeting – October 25, 2020
Keeping the theme of Christian Social Justice, the purpose of this meeting was to build the foundation of “we are all made in the image and likeness of God” and therefore, we are united as His body. In our first activity, we were supposed to pass the Light of Christ using mirrors, but we were not successful. Oh well, sometimes you try and fail – but never stop trying to spread God’s love. We spent our small group time discussing how we are all called to see each person as a Child of God, but society doesn’t always treat each person with respect. We collaborated about how we can work to create a culture of love. After a delicious lunch, we decided on our community outreach project. We will distribute gift bags with personal care items (soap, toothpaste, etc.) at the SVDP food pantry during Christmas week. Finally, we played a fun, but messy game where we had to pass the Gospel (represented by a plate of flour) down the line while wearing blindfolds. We learned spreading the Gospel message works much better if you take off your blinders and really see the image of Christ in each individual person.
